Tinubu Condoles With Ex-Minister Amaechi Over Mother’s Passing

President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, following the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Amaechi.

Dame Amaechi passed away at the age of 89.

In a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu paid tribute to the late matriarch, describing her as a devout Catholic whose life was defined by faith, compassion, sacrifice and selfless service to others.

The President said she remained committed to her religious beliefs, upheld strong family values and raised children who dedicated themselves to serving the nation.

According to Tinubu, Dame Amaechi’s legacy was built on humility, perseverance and kindness—qualities that earned her the admiration and respect of many within and beyond her community.

Expressing his sympathy, the President said, “My heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, the entire Amaechi family, the Catholic faithful, and the government and people of Rivers State over the passing of Dame Ezinne Amaechi, a woman of unwavering faith whose life exemplified humility and selfless service to humanity.

“May Almighty God grant her eternal rest and comfort all those mourning her loss during this difficult time.”

Tinubu encouraged the bereaved family to find strength in the remarkable legacy Dame Amaechi leaves behind, noting that her enduring contributions to her family, the Catholic Church and society would continue to inspire generations.
