Ayra Starr reacts as Grammy-winning producer Slikk Muzik names daughter after her

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has reacted after four time Grammy-winning American  musicproducer Slikk Muzik named his newborn daughter after her.

Slikk Muzik announced the arrival of his baby girl on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing that he had named her Ayra Starr Offord.

Sharing photos of the newborn, the producer wrote: “Ayra Starr Offord. 09:21:26. Daddy loves you 4L.”

The name drew attention because of its connection to the Nigerian singer, whose music has gained a growing international audience.

Slikk Muzik did not provide a detailed explanation for the choice of name, but the gesture appears to be a tribute to Ayra Starr and her growing profile in global music.

The singer acknowledged the gesture on Wednesday by sharing the producer’s Instagram post on her Instagram Story with the caption, “Love you twin.”

Slikk Muzik, whose real name is Rickey Offord, is a Dallas born music producer and songwriter. He has worked with artists including Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Toni Braxton and Tamar Braxton. His credits also include gospel music, with his work contributing to Grammy winning projects.

Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, was discovered by Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy and signed to the label in 2021. She gained wider recognition with songs including Rush, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best African  Music Performance in 2024. She received another nomination in the same category for Gimme Dat, her collaboration with Wizkid, at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

In August 2026, Ayra Starr released her third studio album, Starrgirl. The 16-track project features artists including ZAYN, Wizkid, Rema, Leon Thomas, KWN, Danny Ocean and Theodora. The album followed her 2021 debut 19 & Dangerous and 2024 album The Year I Turned 21.

According to Universal Music Canada, Ayra Starr has surpassed seven billion global streams and one billion YouTube views. She has also won three MOBO Awards and became the first African woman to win Best International Act at the awards.
