Iyabo Ojo Takes Center Stage at Grandson Rakeem’s 1st Birthday

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo was one of the major highlights at the lavish first birthday celebration of her grandson, Rakeem, held in Lagos on Saturday.

The actress, who had earlier featured alongside the celebrant in a pre-birthday photoshoot, was closely involved in preparations for the colourful celebration as the event drew closer.

Ojo also expressed appreciation to friends and associates who contributed to the occasion, including businesswoman Shade Okoya and actresses Lola Alao and Bose Alao, who supported the celebration by providing souvenirs for children in attendance.

The cowboy-themed party attracted a strong celebrity turnout, with several entertainment personalities attending with their families to celebrate Rakeem, the son of Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, and her husband, Juma Jux.

Among the guests were media personality Toke Makinwa and her daughter, singer Yhemo Lee and his wife, Thayour B, and their son, actress Nkechi Blessing and her son, actor Kamo State, his wife and daughter, as well as fashion designer Veekee James.

The celebration featured a variety of games and activities designed to entertain the children, with Rakeem’s parents, Priscilla and Juma Jux, actively participating in the festivities.

Although the party was primarily centred around the young celebrant and his peers, the star-studded guest list, music, dancing and games created an atmosphere that kept both adults and children entertained.

Ojo herself became a talking point after her choice of outfit for the occasion attracted considerable attention from fans and followers on social media.

She later joined her son, Festus, on the dance floor, adding to the energetic mood of the celebration.

The actress had shared several moments from the preparations in the days leading up to the party, while also acknowledging those who contributed to making the event memorable.

For Rakeem, the celebration marked his first birthday and a significant family milestone, bringing together relatives, friends and members of the entertainment community in Lagos.
