Pastor Evelyn Joshua carries bag of rice on her head at Alaba Rago

Pastor Evelyn Joshua displayed humility on Tuesday, May 31 by carrying a bag of rice on her head during a charity mission to Alaba Rago in Ojo area of Lagos.

The leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) literally joined Emmanuel TV team in distributing bags of rice and cash to the less privileged.

Evelyn was dressed for the outdoor event, sporting a pair of jean trousers and a shirt which has her late husband Prophet TB Joshua’s image and the inscription ‘The Life and Legacy of TB Joshua’.

The visit to Alaba Rago is part of activities to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Joshua. The SCOAN founder, who died on June 5, 2021, taught his followers to give extravagantly.

About a fortnight ago, the Lagos State Government gave occupants and traders of Alaba Rago a 14-day ultimatum to vacate the market as it has become a den of criminals.

A joint team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and Lagos State Environment and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce), led by the RRS commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi and chairman of Lagos Taskforce, Sola Jejeloye, met the occupants of the market in clusters to inform them of the 14-day vacation order.

Altogether, the church said in a Facebook post that the Emmanuel TV Team presented the sum of N1.5 million and 500 bags of rice to the Alaba Rago community.

While thanking Evelyn and the Emmanuel TV partners, representatives of Alaba Rago community for the needy also made requests for assistance with accommodations and job opportunities for the skilled among them.

The post ended with the words of Joshua, “When we give, we receive more of whatever we give.”
