First lady Remi Tinubu has arrived in the ancient city of Kano for her one-day official visit.
Mrs Tinubu and her team were received at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday by Governor Abba Yusuf and some members of his cabinet.
Several supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came out to welcome the president’s wife.
After a brief airport ceremony, the motorcade of the first lady headed straight to the palace of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, for courtesy greetings.
Hundreds of residents and schoolchildren waved at her as she was being driven into the metropolis.
While in Kano, Mrs Tinubu will inaugurate a multi-purpose hall named after her at the Faculty of Law, Maryam Abacha American University.
