“Nothing is wrong in Muslim-Muslim ticket” – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, on Friday said he sees nothing wrong if a political party decides to adopt a Muslim-Muslim ticket in respect of the 2023 presidential election.

Afrocrats reports that according to Omokri, Nigerians should lay emphasis on credibility –and not religion.

As the political cloud thickens ahead of the 2023 general elections, the selection of the running mate—vice-presidential candidate —for the respective presidential hopeful remains a topical issue.

A leading aspirant, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), settled for Kabiru Masari, although in a ‘placeholder’ capacity.

His decision has been antagonised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), who feels it is improper.

Commenting on the issue, Omokri wrote on his verified Twitter handle: “I said this before and I will say it again. There is NOTHING wrong with a Muslim-Muslim ticket if it is a good ticket of credible people. I am against the APC, not because of that plan, but because Tinubu is not credible. Let’s focus on credibility, not religiosity!”
