President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, October 31, depart Abuja for London, the United Kingdom for a routine medical check-up.
His spokesman Femi Adesina announced this in a short statement posted on social media.
He said, “President Muhammadu Buhari leaves for London, United Kingdom, October 31, 2022, for routine medical check-up.
“He returns to the country in the second week of November, 2022.”
The trip comes shortly after Buhari presided over an emergency meeting with security chiefs at the State House, Abuja.
Buhari departed Abuja for Owerri, Imo, after presiding over the meeting. From Owerri, he will proceed to London.
Monday’s trip will be one of several medical trips the President has embarked on since assuming office in 2015.
Despite budgeting billions of naira annually for the State House Clinic and other hospitals in Nigeria, Buhari and members of his immediate family routinely travel abroad for medical tourism.
