Yayi Expresses Gratitude to Tinubu After Securing Ogun APC Nod for 2027

Senator Solomon Adeola, widely known as Yayi, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and leading figures within the All Progressives Congress after being adopted as the party’s consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Adeola described his emergence as both an honour and a responsibility, pledging loyalty to the party’s vision and a strong commitment to the progress of the state. He specifically commended Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting what he called the President’s dedication to strengthening both the party and the nation.

He also extended gratitude to the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, and elder statesman Segun Osoba, noting that their support and confidence were instrumental in his emergence as the party’s preferred candidate.

Adeola further acknowledged the backing of party stakeholders and members across Ogun State, thanking them for entrusting him with the ticket ahead of the forthcoming governorship race.

Describing the endorsement as deeply humbling, the senator assured supporters of his readiness to lead an inclusive and united campaign. He emphasized his determination to uphold the party’s ideals, build on existing achievements, and work collaboratively toward victory in the 2027 elections.

His emergence followed a strategic caucus meeting of the APC held in Abeokuta, where party leaders formally adopted him as the governorship candidate for the next election cycle.

The meeting, chaired by the state party chairman, Yemi Sanusi, was attended by key stakeholders, including Governor Abiodun, former governors Ibikunle Amosun and Gbenga Daniel, among others. During the session, Abiodun reportedly called on other aspirants to rally behind Adeola, stressing the importance of unity as the party begins early preparations for the 2027 polls.
