Nomy breaks silence after BBNaija disqualification

Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Nneoma Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, has spoken for the first time since her disqualification from the  reality TV show.

Nomy expressed gratitude to fans for their support and apologised to those who felt let down by her exit.

Speaking during an X Space, she said she was moved by the reception she received after leaving the house.

“Just hearing that I have an entire nation just makes me so happy. I’m so thankful to each and every one of you. I’m sorry to everyone who I have let down, it wasn’t intentional,” she said.

Nomy said she would have approached the competition differently if she had known the level of support she had outside the house.

“If I had known I had this much support and love waiting for me at home, I would have done everything I could to take me to the finale, but I guess it was just meant to work out this way. I’m sorry for letting you down and I am fine, thank you for supporting me”, she added.

The fashion designer and entrepreneur was disqualified from the Show Ya Sef house on Monday after repeatedly defying Big Brother’s instructions.

Her latest breach occurred while she was serving as the week’s Bench Warmer. She had been instructed to remain on a designated bench and wear a vest but left both behind.

Big Brother reminded Nomy that she had previously received a strike for repeatedly defying his instructions. The strike, issued on August 9, was described as her “last and final warning”.

Following the latest violation, Big Brother revoked her participation privilege and gave her 30 minutes to pack her belongings and leave the house. She subsequently became the first housemate to be disqualified from the ongoing season.

Nomy’s disqualification also ended her chances of competing for the N160 million grand prize.

Season 11 premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates competing for the biggest prize package in the history of the  reality show. The remaining housemates will continue their race towards the finale.
