Senate President Akpabio Commissions Lagos Projects on President Tinubu’s Behalf

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has commissioned key infrastructure projects in Lagos State, including the Open-Mende-Ojota Link Bridge and the newly renamed Bola Ahmed Administrative Complex in Alausa.

Akpabio performed the ceremony on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently in Lagos for a series of project inaugurations during a scheduled working visit.

At the event, which was attended by top government officials, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Hope Uzodimma, and Tokunbo Abiru, the Senate President formally unveiled the projects, declaring them open for public use on behalf of the President.

The commissioning is part of a broader rollout of major infrastructure projects delivered by the Lagos State Government. According to officials, several other projects are lined up for inauguration, including the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building, the Multi-Agency Complex, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, the Maracana Stadium, and the Lagos Food Logistics Hub in Abijo.

Government representatives described the projects as transformative initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, public service delivery, and overall urban development across the state.

In preparation for the events, the state government announced temporary traffic adjustments across key areas. The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, explained that the measures were necessary to ensure safety and smooth coordination during the commissioning activities.

Motorists were advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes, particularly around Ikeja, Opebi, Allen, and Ojota, where traffic disruptions were expected during the scheduled unveiling of the projects.

The commissioning activities are expected to continue over multiple days as more projects are officially opened across different parts of Lagos.
