Osinbajo, Fashola, and Top Dignitaries Attend Funeral of Kemi Adeosun’s Husband

Several prominent Nigerian political figures gathered in Lagos on Thursday for a church service in honour of Anthony Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.

The service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Trinity Towers, Victoria Island.

Anthony, a respected businessman, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 62. His death was announced in a statement issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.

The family described the deceased as a devoted Christian who touched the lives of many through his character and contributions to those around him.

Among the dignitaries who attended the service were former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife; former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola; former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi; and Florence Ajimobi, widow of former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Also present were former President of the African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina, and the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji, among other notable personalities.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Kemi, their children and other members of his family, including his sibling and founder of Kuramo Capital, Adewale Adeosun.

Following the conclusion of the church service, members of the family proceeded with the private burial ceremony.
