Bayelsa Governor Diri Pays Tribute to Late Senator Brambaifa

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Senator John Kojo-Brambaifa.

Brambaifa, who represented Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 5th National Assembly, passed away on Saturday at an Abuja hospital. He was 81 years old.

In a condolence message released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri described the late senator as an illustrious son of Bayelsa who distinguished himself in public service.

The governor said Bayelsa State and Nigeria had lost a respected elder statesman, an amiable gentleman, and a committed community leader.

According to him, Brambaifa’s political career reflected integrity, dedication, and selfless service to Nigeria, the former Rivers State, Bayelsa State, and his home community.

“On behalf of the Government of Bayelsa State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Brambaifa family and the people of Agbere community in Sagbama Local Government Area,” the governor said.

Diri urged the family and the wider community to take comfort in Brambaifa’s long record of meritorious service and his lasting contributions to public life.

Until his death, Brambaifa served as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Bassambiri, in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

He previously served as Chairman of Sagbama Local Government Council in the old Rivers State and also headed the Bayelsa State Board of Internal Revenue.
