“You are my light & you have shone brightly” – Read Fela Durotoye’s Message to Supporters

Presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Fela Durotoye has a message for followers of his party and Nigerians generally.

The presidential candidate took to his Instagram to share his message of hope to his followers, fans and party mates.

Durotoye’s political party is presently recording not-so-encouraging numbers at the count of Saturday’s presidential polls, which is ongoing.

Fela Durotoye is encouraging his followers and those who believe in his ambition not to let their heart sink in the wake of the results announcement of the polls.

Read his message below:

It’s often said it gets darkest before the dawn, but no matter how dark it gets, no matter how vast the darkness, light, no matter how small will always shine through & overcome every darkness

You are my light & you have shone brightly.

I want you to know how much I LOVE YOU, HOW EXTREMELY PROUD I AM OF YOU & NOW I WANT YOU TO BE PROUD OF YOURSELF and what we’ve achieved.

While we may feel disappointed about the numbers we see, remember this was never about Fela Durotoye.

It has always been about a New Nigeria.

We shone our light and got the ‘disenchanted’ & first-time voters to get their PVCs.

We shone our light & inspired people to join political parties.

We shone our light & got a critical mass of good people to deliver good governance by running for office.

So, hold your head up high, walk tall with pride because you believed in the New Nigeria, voted for it, volunteered, donated & spread the word, despite all those who said yours was a wasted vote.

A vote for light is never a waste, no matter how many choose darkness.

So here’s what I want you to do.

When you see the numbers come in for the New Nigeria, don’t be disappointed; cheer and be proud because you know people like you in far off states, shone their light in the darkness & chose the New Nigeria over the old one.

And that is something to be proud of.

Our journey to a New Nigeria continues & just like the rays of light through the darkest of nights, the sun will shine through until our schools, police force, health care, civil service, private sector, economy and all of Nigeria is covered by light.

So Arise Nigeria and shine, for your light is come.
