Westpaq International Launches State-of-the-Art Energy Training Facility in Lagos

Westpaq International, in collaboration with Subsurface Consultants and Associates (SCA), has officially unveiled a state-of-the-art Energy Industry Training Facility in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos—marking a major step forward in workforce development and leadership transformation within Nigeria’s energy sector.

Designed to strengthen technical capability, executive leadership, and industry innovation, the new facility will serve integrated energy companies, service providers, and regulatory institutions operating across the energy value chain.

The opening ceremony drew high-level participation, including Bradley McKinney, Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for the U.S. Commercial Service, alongside the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Consul General, senior Commercial Service officials, and representatives from the U.S. Embassy and Consulate.

Describing the launch as a milestone, a Westpaq International representative said the facility reflects the company’s long-term commitment to building local capacity and supporting sustainable growth in Nigeria’s energy industry, in partnership with global and local stakeholders.

Following the ribbon-cutting, DAS McKinney convened a roundtable discussion with executives from leading U.S. energy and services companies operating in Nigeria, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Schlumberger, Halliburton, and Westpaq International. The dialogue focused on collaboration, operational challenges, and practical strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s energy ecosystem.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology and modern learning infrastructure, the Energy Industry Training Facility will host a wide range of professional training programmes, workshops, and seminars, covering technical expertise, leadership development, and global industry best practices.
