Spotify to raise premium subscription price in Nigeria, others

Music streaming platform Spotify has stated plans to increase the monthly price of its premium individual subscription in select markets, including Nigeria, starting from September 2025.

In a blog post obtained from its website on Monday, the subscription price will rise to 11.99 euros per month from 10.99 euros in markets including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

The audio streaming giant said subscribers will receive an email explaining the price increase over the next month.

Spotify stated that part of the email users will receive includes: “Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in September, your subscription price will change from 10,99 €/month to 11,99 €/month.”

The company justified the increment as enabling the company to innovate on products and features, and better serve users.

“To continue to innovate on our product offerings and features and bring users the best experience, we occasionally update our prices.

“Over the next month, Premium subscribers in multiple markets across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region will receive an email explaining what this update means for their subscriptions,” the company said.
