Khaleel Al-makura, one of the sons of Nasarawa State Governor, to face Manslaughter Charge

Khaleel, one of the sons of Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura is to be charged with manslaughter after his car knocked down a student, Ovye Amos.

Ovye Amos is a junior secondary school student of Government Secondary School,Lafia. According to the head boy of the school, Goodluck Agwu, Ovye had gone out to buy batteries when he was hit by Khaleel’s car around 8:00PM

As a result of this incident, the students of the school have taken to the streets to protest, demanding justice for the killing of their school mate, Ovye Amos.

The Nasarawa State Government, represented by Aliyu Tijjani, addressed the students on the parade ground and expressed his sympathy.

“I want to express my profound dismay and sadness over what happened here yesterday. It is unfortunate, very very unfortunate. The government of Nasarawa State has already taken measures into ensuring that the person that perpetuated this killing is brought to book. He has already been arrested”

The state’s commissioner of police, Abubakar Sadiq-Bello also states that the suspect is still in the police custody, and that as soon as investigation is concluded, he will be arraigned in court.
