Conte: Moses needs to rest

Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte said he decided to rest Victor Moses in their 1-0 loss to Manchester City last weekend at Stamford Bridge, to prevent the Super Eagles attacking midfielder from burning out.

Moses, is expected to arrive today in Uyo to join the Super Eagles preparing for the crucial FIFA World Cup qualification match against Zambia. Moses was a major factor in the Super Eagles 5-1 aggregate scores victory over Cameroon in September’s back to back World Cup qualifiers. Moses’ absence was felt by Chelsea as they struggled to contain Manchester City’s onslaughts.
To play three games in seven days is not simple, above all for our wing-backs,” Conte said. “Moses played two whole games against Stoke [City] and Atletico, [Marcos] Alonso played one and a half games, because against Stoke I changed him after 10 minutes. “Then you have to try not to put your players in difficulty, and not to risk this type of player, because Moses for us is an important player, and to play three games in only seven days, it means that you are risking him.”
